Mumbai, Sep 12 (PTI) Stock markets rose in early trade on Monday amid a rally in Asian markets and continued inflow of foreign funds.

During this, the 30-share BSE Sensex rose 274.07 points to 60,067.21 with an increase for the third consecutive session. Similarly, the broader NSE Nifty was trading 79.45 points higher at 17,910.50.

The market is eyeing retail inflation and industrial production data, which are to be announced on Monday.

Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Bajaj Finserv, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Steel and ICICI Bank were among the top gainers on the Sensex.

On the other hand, HDFC, Dr Reddy’s, L&T, Asian Paints and Kotak Bank declined.

In other Asian markets, markets in Japan were trading with a positive trend, while markets in China and South Korea were closed on account of holidays.

Meanwhile, international oil standard Brent crude slipped 1.38 percent to $ 91.53 per barrel.

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 2,132.42 crore on Friday, according to provisional stock market data.
