Amazon slashes sales fees for new sellers in half
Giving this information in a statement issued on Monday, Amazon India said that this festive season it has been decided to give concession in sales charges to new sellers.
According to the statement, new sellers who register on Amazon’s platform between August 28 and October 26 will now have to pay only 50 percent of the sales fee.
However, this exemption can be availed by only those sellers who will start their business within 90 days of registration. The company has covered sellers of all segments under the ambit of this facility.
All sellers are required to pay a fee to sell their products on Amazon.in, which acts as an online seller platform. It is calculated as a percentage of the total selling price.
Along with this, Amazon said that all its sellers are waiting to take advantage of the opportunity to sell more this festive season. These include local stores and artisans and craftsmen in addition to established companies.
The government has also exempted units with a turnover of less than Rs 40 lakh from GST registration for sale on e-commerce platforms.
Vivek Somareddy, Director, Amazon India said, “More than one million sellers from across the country are associated with us. They will get an opportunity to showcase their products to consumers across the country this festive season.”
