US-Mexico to cooperate in semiconductor electric vehicle sector


Mexico City, Sep 13 (AP) Mexico and the United States are all set to take advantage of the massive investment in semiconductor production by President Joe Biden’s administration. The two countries plan to integrate their supply chains and increase cooperation in the production of electric vehicles. Officials of both the countries gave this information on Monday. The two countries will cooperate to increase production of electric vehicles through Mexico’s nationalized lithium industry.

It is believed that such cooperation between the US and Mexico will continue to benefit Asia in the semiconductor and battery sector. Both countries will encourage production in North America.

This topic was mainly discussed on the sidelines of the high-level economic talks in the capital of Mexico.

US Secretary of State Antony Blingen said, “The essentials for the semiconductor supply chain are already established in Mexico. Companies such as US-based Intel and Skyworks are conducting research and development, design, assembly and manufacturing trials in Mexico.
