Mumbai: The Nifty 50 index closed with a decline on the last trading day of the week. It had closed at 18,035.85 points in the previous session while today it opened at 17,974.85 points. This happened because of weak global signals. The US stock market closed down on Thursday. US Producer Price Inflation (PPI) has jumped 0.7% in January as compared to the previous month. This is much higher than the estimate of 0.4%. Lower-than-expected unemployment claims, strong Consumer Price Index (CPI) and retail sales data raised fears that the US Fed could raise interest rates again. The Nasdaq Composite declined 1.78%. Similarly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by 1.26% and the S&P 500 by 1.38%.

At 11:00 am, the Nifty 50 index fell by 44 points, or 0.24%, to 17,991.85 points. On the other hand, the performance of the broad market indices was mixed as compared to the frontline indices. The Nifty Mid-Cap 100 index and the Nifty Small-Cap 100 index declined by 0.36% and 0.01%, respectively. Here is the list of stocks which are undergoing price volume breakout.
