Devendra Fadnavis and Piyush Goyal responded on Tata Airbus project and Vedanta’s chip factory moving from Maharashtra to Gujarat

New Delhi : A debate is very common in the political circles before the Gujarat elections. There is a debate on why Maharashtra’s projects are going to Gujarat? Actually, two big projects of Maharashtra will now be set up in Gujarat. Recently, mining giant Vedanta decided to move its chip factory project to Gujarat instead of Maharashtra. This project is worth Rs 1.53 lakh crore. After this the Tata-Airbus C-295 transport aircraft project also moved to Gujarat. The project is worth Rs 22,000 crore. In this, a consortium of Airbus and Tata Group will build the C-295 transport aircraft for the Indian Air Force in Vadodara, Gujarat. Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Piyush Goyal have answered this question in a conversation with a news channel. Let’s know.

Projects worth thousands of crores are not decided in 4-6 days
On the question of why Maharashtra’s projects are going to Gujarat, Piyush Goyal said, ‘It is understandable if children talk about this. It is a big surprise if experienced journalists like you also talk like this. Mumbai is an economic city of the country. No project worth thousands of crores is decided in four days or six days. There is a long process behind this. There is a long study. Incentives, discounts, everything is taken care of. We ourselves come from the business world. Investment decisions are taken after a very complicated process. Political, economic, all circumstances are seen. We don’t have enough time to respond to them everyday. Media creates controversy for TRP.

Big companies of the world looking towards India
Goyal further said, ‘Nowadays you must have heard a lot that big companies are looking towards India. The way Make in India has been promoted under the leadership of Modiji, the whole world is looking towards India. They see that there are many countries where there are no democracies. Where they are afraid. Don’t know when even a millionaire man disappears. In such a situation, they are now looking towards India. One such CEO Forum was held in Delhi yesterday and yesterday. The CEOs of major countries who want to fight with our northern neighbour, had come.

Companies were afraid in the old government of Maharashtra
Goyal further said, ‘I asked him about a project, why did you not do that project in Maharashtra. On this, he said that there was so much trouble that he was not enjoying doing business. I asked who do you call fun. He said that there was no political stability at that time. There was enough corruption. Ease of Doing Business was not. Fix something with the minister of one party, then the minister of another party used to ask where is my share. The loss that Maharashtra has suffered due to sharing of stake, now Devendra ji will have to make up for it by working twice as hard. Our government has said from 2014 till today that all the states and union territories of the country will be involved in this competition, only then the country will progress. The more competition there is and the more we promote the Indian industry by inviting investors, the better it will be.

Biggest ever project in Maharashtra stopped from coming

At the same time, Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis said, ‘We came in the year 2014. From 2015 to 2019, Maharashtra was number 1 in FDI. Maharashtra had one and a half times the FDI in Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Karnataka. So no one can take Maharashtra back. The people who are crying in their chest, these are the people who ruined the biggest project coming up in Maharashtra. The country’s biggest investment in the history till date was coming to Maharashtra in the form of green refinery. Government companies accounted for 60 per cent of this investment. Such investments were not allowed to come. Opposed him, stopped him. After the departure of our government, it was abolished. If that single investment had come, then in 2 years, as much as it would have invested in the rest of the states, it would have come to them at one go. That’s why they don’t have the right to speak.

60 million tonnes refinery facility
Taking Fadnavis forward, Goyal said, “It was a 60 million tonne refinery facility. There is no such thing in the whole world today. Saudi Arabia and India were coming together in this. They wanted to invest around 8 lakh crores in India. Everything was decided during the Chief Ministership of Devendra Fadnavis. But they put obstacles in the government. Destroyed the whole project. Now I am trying to call them again. He is still scared of the experience of the last 3 years.
