Adani Group’s Gautam Adani is nowhere in front of Wipro’s Azim Premji in donating
According to a report in Mint, Premji and his family donated Rs 9,713 crore last year. Most of this money was given for education. HCL’s Shiv Nadar & Family is at number two in the list of Indian rich who donated the most. The family donated Rs 1,263 crore. Most of this amount was given for arts, culture and heritage. Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and his family are at number three in this list. Ambani is the second richest person from India and ninth in the world. His family donated Rs 577 crore last year. Most of this amount was given to the education sector.

KM Birla and his family are at number four in the list of biggest donors. This family donated Rs 377 crore last year. Most of this amount was given to the healthcare sector. Infosys cofounder Nandan Nilekani is at number five. He donated Rs 183 crore last year, out of which most of the amount was given to social thinking. Similarly, Hinduja family donated Rs 166 crore last year, Bajaj family Rs 136 crore, Vedanta’s Anil Agarwal & Family donated Rs 130 crore and Burman family donated Rs 114 crore. These families donated most of the money to healthcare and disaster relief.
In the last century, Jamshed Tata, the founder of the Tata Group, was the world’s biggest donor. According to the EdelGive Foundation and Hurun, he donated $ 102 billion. In the year 2020-21, Indian companies spent more than Rs 24,000 crore under CSR. Among them, Reliance Industries, TCS, Tata Sons and HDFC Bank were at the forefront. Due to Corona, there was an increase in CSR funding in Healthcare and PM National Relief Fund. The education sector received the maximum donations.
