Amit Shah said that India will become the world’s third largest economy in a few years


New Delhi : India will become the third largest economy in the world in a few years. Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said this on Monday. He was addressing the World Dairy Conference. He said that India will become the third largest economy in the world, in which the cooperative sector will also have to play an important role. Amit Shah said that before the next Lok Sabha elections to be held in the year 2024, the government will help in the formation of two lakh new milk cooperative societies at the village level.

Dairy sector adopting new technology
Shah also urged the dairy sector to adopt professionalism, latest technology, computerization and digital payment system. He said that this would help in increasing milk production. This will not only meet the domestic needs, but also supply to the poor countries.

India came fifth from the 14th largest economy

Shah also called upon the dairy industry to become self-reliant in manufacturing the machines used for milk processing. He said, “India was the 14th largest economy in the world in 2014, but now it has reached the fifth position. I am confident that in the next few years we will become the third largest economy.

Difference between cooperatives and companies

Shah said that the contribution of India’s cooperative sector will also be discussed at the time of becoming the world’s third largest economy. He also stressed on the need to differentiate between cooperatives and companies operating in the dairy sector.

He said that dairy cooperatives have played a big role in the empowerment of women and it has also helped in fighting malnutrition. “The cooperative sector and dairy cooperatives have done a lot of work in rural development,” he said.

3 multi-cooperative societies being formed

Shah urged the dairy industry to make natural farming its lifeline and said that it would improve the health of the people and strengthen the economic system. He said that three multi-cooperative societies are also being formed to promote organic farming and exports.
