New Delhi, Sep 12 (PTI) Gold prices on Monday rose by Rs 79 to Rs 50,608 per 10 grams in futures trade on firm spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in October rose by Rs 79, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 50,608 per 10 grams. It had a business turnover of 10,073 lots.
Market analysts said traders traded in fresh positions, which led to the rise in gold prices.
Globally, gold was trading 0.17 per cent lower at USD 1,731.60 an ounce in New York.
