Government is formulating policy to make India a skill supply hub: Pradhan
He said that to identify the need of skilled workforce in different countries, a requirements framework will be prepared along with the global skill chain.
He said that the identification of skill requirements will serve as an important element when the Department of Commerce negotiates trade deals with various countries on behalf of India.
Organized a virtual ‘Global Skills Summit’ on Tuesday in collaboration with four departments of the central government along with ambassadors from ten countries. Australia, France, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Mauritius, Singapore, Tanzania, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and UK participated in it.
Pradhan said, “India can meet the needs of the ‘skilled workforce’ in the world. We have to make the country a skill supply hub in the global value chain. A policy is being formulated for this purpose. Keeping this in mind, the Virtual Global Skills Summit was organized today.
The Union Minister said that after Industrial Revolution 4.0, the demand for skilled workforce or employees from India has increased.
