gstn empaneled financial information providers

Mumbai, Nov 23 (PTI) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday said the Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) has been included in the list of financial information providers under the financial data sharing mechanism ‘account aggregator’ framework.

Account Aggregator (AA) is an RBI regulated entity. It helps an individual to access information securely and digitally from the financial institution where he/she holds the account. Also helps in sharing the same with other regulated financial institutions under the ‘Account Aggregator Network’.

The RBI said in a circular, “Department of Revenue will be the regulator for GSTN in this matter and GST returns ie Form GSTR-1 and Form GSTR-3B will be financial information.

The list of financial information providers includes banks, non-banking financial companies, asset management companies, depositories, participants, insurance companies and pension funds.

GSTN is the technology backbone of Goods and Services. There are 1.40 crore registered taxpayers on this.
