Guidelines issued for operation of platform services
New Delhi, Nov 30 (PTI) The government has asked multi-system operators to register as a ‘company’ within three months if they want to broadcast local news and current affairs on their network as a ‘platform service provider’. Must be registered as.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued these guidelines for multi-system operators on Wednesday. These instructions pertain to telecast of their own programmes. They broadcast these programs either directly to their subscribers or through one or more local cable operators.
Such program services are called ‘Platform Services’. These also include local channels and are a type of special programming service provided locally by multi-system operators.
The ministry has put in place a simple process for online registration of platform service channels by multi-system operators and the fee has been fixed at Rs 1,000 per channel.
