Income tax department sets up taxpayer’lounge’ at the trade fair

New Delhi, 15 November (Language) Income Tax Department’s establishment of taxpayer ‘lounge’ at the International Trade Fair will help in filing tax returns. Along with this, awareness will be created among the children and future tax payers about the importance of tax in nation building.

This time the theme of India International Trade Fair (IITF) is ‘Vocal for Local’. Accordingly, tax incentives given for startups, agriculture and allied service activities have been outlined in the Taxpayers’ Lounge.

After inaugurating the lounge, Chairman, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) Nitin Gupta said, “To attract the attention of our future taxpayer youth, comic books, robo-tax, income tax video games, street plays are being displayed in the taxpayers’ lounge here. And a children’s carnival corner is being organized along with other events.

Taxpayers’ lounge seeks to educate taxpayers about various taxpayer-facilitation initiatives of the department in the recent past and create awareness among children and youth (future taxpayers) about the importance of taxes in nation building .
