India notified export of 8,606 tonnes of raw sugar to US under tariff quota
New Delhi, Nov 16 (PTI) The government has notified export of 8,606 tonnes of raw sugar to the US under the Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ).
Exports under TRQ attract a much lower customs duty. Excess exports after this quota is reached attract higher duties.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said in a public notice, “5,840 tonnes of raw/refined sugar will be exported to the European Union under the TRQ scheme from October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023.” At the same time, 8,606 tonnes of raw sugar will be exported to America.
