Raghuram Rajan’s prediction proved wrong
Where Raghuram Rajan had predicted the GDP estimate to be 5 percent in the financial year 2022-23. Contrary to Rajan’s forecast, the country’s economic growth rate has been better than expected. India’s GDP growth rate has grown faster than expected, beating even the estimates of RBI, SBI, Reuters poll. Where countries like America, Europe are facing recession, India has achieved better economic growth rate than expected. India’s GDP growth has been 6.1% in the March quarter. Apart from this, the Center has estimated that the overall growth rate of FY23 will be 7.2 percent. The data revealed that the Indian economy grew at a rate of 7.2 per cent in the financial year 2022-23. This estimate is a relief.

There will be more difficulty for the Indian economy. Rajan said that inflation is increasing, bank interest rates have reached a high level, exports are continuously decreasing. All these are going to affect India. All this will work as a negative for development. Amidst all this, even if Indian GDP grows at 5 per cent next year, we will be lucky.

Significantly, the Reserve Bank of India had estimated the real GDP growth in Q4FY23 to be 5.1 percent. Whereas SBI Research’s estimate was 5.5 per cent. Reuters poll had predicted a GDP growth of 5 per cent. Experts had predicted GDP growth to be 4.9 to 5.5 percent in the January-March 2023 quarter. Overtaking all these results, India’s GDP growth has increased rapidly. According to the data, the GDP growth in the January-March quarter of the financial year 2022-23 stood at 6.1 percent. GDP growth in the year 2022-23 was 7.2 percent.
Rajan on BJP’s target
As soon as the GDP figures came out on May 31, the BJP started targeting Rahul Gandhi and former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan. While sharing the video of Raghuram Rajan and Rahul Gandhi, BJP has termed it pessimistic. BJP leader Amit Malviya wrote that the truth is that India has registered a growth of 7.2 percent in GDP in the financial year 2022-23. Congress supporters are like ‘filth seeking flies’. Even if they are given even a single clean place, they will only look for dirt. On Raghuram Rajan’s disappointing statement, he said that he is naturally sad. His wish is to see the Arabs starving the people. Along with Amit Malviya, BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawalla took a dig at Raghuram Rajan’s statement, calling him ‘James Bond Rajan’.
