This number is 70 percent of the iPhone made in the whole world.

The Zhengzhou factory has been placed in a COVID bubble since the beginning of this year to maintain production. If anyone in the staff has corona, they are sent to the quarantine center built in the factory itself. But despite this, the outbreak of corona among the workers has not stopped. Some cases of corona were found in the factory in October. Then a lockdown was announced in some districts of Zhengzhou.
Although it is not clear how many workers in Foxconn’s factory are infected with Corona. Due to the spread of corona in the factory, there was chaos there. Many such videos had come on social media in which it was seen that many workers were trying to escape from there by scaling the walls of the factory. Many workers were seen walking on the roads as there was no public transport available. This has affected the work in the factory. According to research group Trendforce, only two-thirds of production is taking place at the factory.

10 thousand workers needed
According to China’s official media Global Times, 10,000 additional workers are needed in the factory. Several media reports claim that Foxconn has asked the local government to send at least one man from every village to work in the factory. Foxconn is the largest employer in Zhengzhou. By September 2022, the company had exported products worth more than 261 billion yuan from there.
