According to the data of the Government of India, during the year 2022-23, a total of 22,963.78 tonnes of mangoes were exported from here. From this, India got foreign exchange equivalent to Rs 37,8.49 crore.

Huge earnings in mango exports are attracting big companies. The country’s well-known company Reliance has also entered in this. Reliance exports mangoes not only by purchasing mangoes from farmers, but also sells mangoes from its orchards abroad. In fact, Reliance has also built mango plantations. Reliance has a 600-acre mango farm in Jamnagar, Gujarat. This is the reason why Reliance is a big mango exporting company.
Export of lame mango has also started
Earlier only Hapus or Alphonso mangoes were exported from India. After that mangoes like Kesar, Totapuri and Benganpalli also joined the top list. Now the lame mango has also been added to this list. Earlier it was exported from Kolkata. Nowadays its export has also started from Banaras.
How is the export happening from Banaras
Air India Express direct flight from Banaras to Sharjah in UAE. At present, three tonnes of 3000 kg of langda mangoes are being sent to Sharjah every day by this flight. It is noteworthy that in the year 2015, Air India Express started direct flight service from Varanasi to Sharjah. At that time it was the only aviation company which started international flight from Banaras.
Apart from mango, this thing is exported
Mango is not only exported from India, apart from that it is also processed and sent to foreign countries. Some companies make mango slices and send them, while some companies send their pulp. Actually, mango pulp and slices can be protected from spoilage for a long time with the help of preservatives. Not only this, due to processing of mangoes, its price increases manifold.
Indian mango export is increasing rapidly
At present, India is the world’s largest exporter of mangoes. Mangoes are exported from India to many countries of the world including European Union countries, England, Ireland, West Asian countries – which we call Gulf countries. There has been a tremendous increase in the export of mangoes this year. In April alone, 6735.80 tonnes of mangoes were exported. The figures for May and June are still being prepared. Mango will also be exported in July and August.
