Mumbai: The Indian stock market rose for the fourth consecutive day due to positive cues from the US market. Both the major indices Sensex and Nifty opened with green ticks at the start of the trade. On Tuesday, the stock market closed for the third day in a row. In early trade, the 30-share Sensex opened 236.36 points higher at 59,196.96. At the same time, the 50-point Nifty also started trading with bullishness.

The American stock market is happy
US stock markets remained bullish for the second day in a row. The Dow Jones, Wall Street’s main sentiment index, closed up 337 points, or 1.12%, at 30,523 on Tuesday. The Nasdaq Composite also rose 0.90% or 96 points to close at 10,772. Meanwhile, the S&P rose 1.14% or 42 points to close at 3719 due to buying.

Earlier in the domestic stock market, BSE’s main sensitive index Sensex rose by 549 points to 58,960 and Nifty rose by 175 points to 18,486. State Bank of India (SBI) was the top gainer among the Sensex stocks. Besides, ITC, Nestle India, Bharti Airtel, IndusInd Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, Reliance Industries and Larsen Toubro were also major gainers. Losers included HDFC Ltd, NTPC, HDFC Bank, Tech Mahindra and Sun Pharma.

On the other hand, in other Asian markets, South Korea’s Kospi, Japan’s Nikkei and Hong Kong’s Hang gained while China’s Shanghai Composite index remained in losses.

Heavyweight stocks are seeing buying today. 21 stocks of Sensex 30 are in green symbol. Today’s top gainers include HDFC, HDFC Bank, Powergrid, Cipla, L&T, M&M, Titan, Tech Mahindra. The biggest losers include HCL Tech, SBIN, Tata Steel, Infosys.
