Mumbai – Indian indices remained flat in Thursday’s morning session following global cues. At this time, investors showed a mixed trend. 1,451 shares advanced while 1,527 shares declined from the previous close, balancing the advance-decline ratio.

The BSE Capital Goods Sector Index was the top gainer with gains of nearly 1%, led by Timken India Ltd, Finolex Cables Ltd, and Larsen & Toubro Ltd. Steel Authority of India Ltd, Hindalco Industries, Tata Steel dragged down the BSE metal index.

The BSE Sensex was trading down 0.07% at 61,947 at 10:08 am on Thursday. While the Nifty50 index fell by 0.13% to settle at 18,385. Larsen & Toubro Ltd, and Bajaj Finance Ltd were the top gainers in the Sensex. While Titan Ltd, Tech Mahindra Ltd, HCL Technologies and Tata Steel Ltd were the top losers.

The reopening of the Drujbha channel eased oil prices somewhat. In contrast, rising food and energy prices pushed UK inflation to a 41-year high of 11.1%.
