New Delhi : On Wall Street last night, global markets saw strength. Major Indian indices started the day with gains on positive global trend. The advance-decline ratio was in favor of advance with 2,178 shares rising and 981 shares falling on the BSE. The BSE Sensex rose over 600 points. While the Nifty-50 index rose over 1%. All sectoral indices were trading with gains.

BSE Capital Goods was the biggest gainer. Suzlon Energy was the top laggard in the BSE capital goods sector with a gain of 5 per cent. The rally came after the company reported winning a new order for the construction of a 48.3 MW wind power project for Adani Green Energy.

BSE Utilities, BSE Power and BSE Auto all saw good gains. While stocks in the healthcare and oil and gas sectors declined. Lloyds Steel Industries was the top gainer of the BSE Smallcap pack. The stock hit a 10% upper circuit due to increase in volumes.

The BSE Sensex rose 1.06% to 59,030 levels at 10:45 am on Tuesday. The Nifty-50 index jumped 1.07% to reach the level of 17,496. Mahindra & Mahindra, State Bank of India and UltraTech Cement Company were the top gainers on the Sensex. While HDFC and Sun Pharmaceuticals showed a decline.
