Mumbai – Indian domestic indices edged higher in the morning session amid a positive global environment. At 9:45 am on Thursday, the BSE Sensex was trading at 61,774, up nearly 0.5%, while the Nifty50 index was up 0.5% at 18,343. The advance-decline ratio was in favor of advance. 1987 shares advanced and 887 shares declined in the Mumbai Stock Exchange.

The Broader index rose nearly 0.5% after the benchmark indices. Fino Payments Bank, Olectra and Is My Trip Planners in BSE Smallcap gained 13%, 10% and 8% respectively. In contrast, RHI Magnesia and Future Lifestyle Fashions recorded a decline of nearly 3% in value.

Majority of the sectoral indices were bullish. BSE Financial Services, Oil & Gas and Energy were the top gainers with gains of around 0.75%. While BSE Telecom and BSE Metals were the sectoral indices that traded lower.

During April-September, foreign direct investment in India fell by 14% to $26.9 billion. In the last 10 years, India’s installed power capacity has doubled.
