New Delhi:US stock markets closed flat amid heavy volatility in the previous session. Meanwhile, a decline is being seen in most of the Asian markets today. Domestic stock markets also opened with a decline and IT stocks saw the biggest decline. BSE IT declined the most while BSE Metals gained more than one per cent. The metals sector saw a boom on the strength of Steel Jindal & Power and National Aluminum Company. On BSE, 1915 stocks are trading with an uptrend while 1399 stocks are witnessing a decline. The advance-decline ratio is completely in favor of advances. The performance of Broader Indices is better than Main Indices. Patel Engineering Ltd was the top gainer in BSE Smallcap with a gain of 12 per cent. Heavy buying was seen in Vinyl Chemicals (India) Ltd. and Rushil Decor Ltd. At 11:50 am, the BSE Sensex was down 0.07% at 59,686. The Nifty 50 index also fell by 0.05% to 17,651 points. Tata Steel, HDFC and Mahindra & Mahindra were the top gainers on the Sensex, while HCL Technologies, Infosys and IndusInd Bank were the biggest losers. Infosys shares continued to fall today. The company’s shares have fallen more than 12 per cent in five trading sessions. Here is a list of penny stocks that touched the upper circuit today.
