New Delhi : Indian benchmark indices opened flat for the second consecutive day on Wednesday, following global markets. This indicated the mixed mood of the investors in the market. Sensex opened flat at 61708 on Wednesday. While Nifty-50 opened flat at 18398. The advance-decline ratio at 10 am in early trade was also giving the same indication. On BSE, 1601 stocks advanced and 1364 stocks declined.

Broader indices were also in line with the benchmark indices and opened flat. BSE Smallcap Index opened at 29083 and BSE Midcap Index opened at 25494. Tanfac Industries Ltd was the top gainer on the BSE Smallcap index as it gained 10%. After this, Housing and Urban Development Corp Ltd. saw a jump of 9.51% and Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd. saw a jump of 9.21%. While the maximum decline was seen in Cressanda Solutions Ltd by 4.95%. Whereas, Jubilant Industries Ltd saw a decline of 4.75%.

On sectoral basis, BSE IT sector was the sector which witnessed buying. Due to this, it showed an increase of 0.42 percent. Fresh buying was seen in FCS Software Solutions Ltd, Onward Technologies and Jelpmok Design & Tech Ltd. On the contrary, due to profit booking, the metal sector continued to decline for the second day and fell by 0.83 per cent.
