Mumbai: The Nifty 50 index had closed at 17,589.6 points in the previous session and opened at 17,443.8 points on Friday, the last trading day of the week. The domestic stock market is witnessing a decline amid strong global cues. US stock markets fell heavily on Thursday. Strong labor market has been said in the weekly jobless data. Due to this, interest rates are expected to remain at a high level in the coming days. Due to this the US stock market declined. The Nasdaq Composite declined by 2.05%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average by 1.66% and the S&P 500 by 1.85%. The effect of the fall in the US stock market was also seen on the Asian markets today and they are trading with a decline.
At 10:05 am, the Nifty 50 index was trading at 17,380.05 points, down 209.55 ie 1.19%. Broader Market, on the other hand, has outperformed the frontline indices.
