MUMBAI – The Nifty50 of the national stock market also started the new week with a big fall despite the overall global economic sentiment. This analysis lists some specific stocks that recorded breakouts along with price volume.

The Nifty50 index opened at 17,066.60 on Monday compared to Friday’s close of 17,100.05. This was the result of global cues in the form of declining capital markets. Major Wall Street indexes fell sharply on Friday as concerns about the risk of further bank failures persisted despite efforts to bail out First Republic Bank and Credit Suisse.

The Nasdaq Composite fell 0.74%. While the Dow Jones fell 1.19% and the S&P 500 fell 1.10%. Several of their respective futures also traded lower ahead of the afternoon session. Asian market indices also fell, tracking cues on Wall Street. With the exception of China’s SSE index, many other indices were hit.

The Nifty50 index was trading down 174.75 points or 1.02% at 16,925.30 at 11:25 am on Monday. The leading indices underperformed the broader market indices. Nifty Mid-Cap 100 Index and Nifty Small-Cap 100 Index fell by 1.33% and 1.06% respectively.
