Rakesh Jhunjhunwala portfolio jumps 11% in last two months


New Delhi: Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s equity portfolio has seen a tremendous jump in FY2024 amid market volatility. The portfolio jointly held by Rakesh Jhunjhunwala or his wife Rekha Jhunjhunwala has gained 11 per cent since April 1. While Sensex and Nifty 50 have gained 6 per cent and 6.7 per cent in the same period. The portfolio value as on March 31, 2023 was Rs 32,445 crore. It has now increased to Rs 35,979 crore. Jhunjhunwala has invested in many big companies.

Currently, his portfolio includes shares of companies such as Titan, Storr Health and Tata Motors. Please inform that Rakesh Jhunjhunwala died at the age of 62. He stepped into Dalal Street in the year 1985. He had become the biggest investor of the country. He along with his wife Rekha Jhunjhunwala has invested more than Rs 30,000 crore in various stocks.

The rise in Jhunjhunwala’s portfolio is mainly due to the inclusion of those individual stocks. The shares have outperformed their respective major indices. The portfolio includes Tata Motors, Tata Motors DVR, Metro Brands, Indian Hotels Company and CRISIL to name a few. These have increased between 15-28 percent during the financial year 2024. Titan Company has gained 9 percent in the same period.

This boom in Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s portfolio has come from the rise in Aptech’s share price. According to data, the stock has gained nearly 65 per cent so far in FY2024. The company reported a 30.5 per cent year-on-year growth in consolidated profit after tax with strong earnings. It stood at Rs 33.35 crore in Q4 FY2023. The company’s board has declared a dividend of Rs 6 per share for FY2023.
