The market cap of six of the top 10 Sensex companies increased by Rs 1,19,763.25 crore last week. Reliance Industries and ITC were the biggest gainers. Last week, the 30-share BSE Sensex gained 561.89 points or 0.86 percent. On July 7, the Sensex touched its all-time high of 65,898.98. The market capitalization of Reliance Industries rose by Rs 57,338.56 crore to reach Rs 17,83,043.16 crore. Reliance Industries remained the biggest gainer. ITC’s market valuation jumped by Rs 21,291.04 crore to Rs 5,82,602.46 crore.

The market capitalization of the country’s largest public sector bank SBI increased by Rs 18,697.06 crore to Rs 5,29,898.83 crore and that of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) by Rs 9,220.81 crore to Rs 12,16,890.72 crore. The market capitalization of ICICI Bank increased by Rs 8,998.26 crore to reach Rs 6,62,702.30 crore. FMCG company Hindustan Unilever added Rs 4,217.52 crore during the week and its market capitalization rose to Rs 6,33,532.04 crore.
Contrary to this trend, the market capitalization of HDFC Bank declined by Rs 22,926.37 crore to Rs 9,28,657.99 crore. HDFC’s valuation declined by Rs 9,782.7 crore to Rs 5,12,585.94 crore. Bharti Airtel’s market cap declined by Rs 5,219.66 crore to Rs 4,84,844.10 crore. Infosys’ valuation declined by Rs 1,638.41 crore to Rs 5,52,452.86 crore. Reliance Industries retained the first position in the list of top 10 companies. It was followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, Infosys, SBI, HDFC and Bharti Airtel respectively.
