Mumbai: Today’s movement of the domestic market is very sluggish and the effect of decline in the American market is also visible in the Indian market. The Indian stock market has started today with a downtrend due to weak global cues. Last night’s heavy fall in the US market is affecting the domestic markets as well, with the Sensex and Nifty indices also showing weakness. Talking about the US market, yesterday the market closed at a 2023 low.

Opening of the market
In the early market on Wednesday, the 30-share index Sensex of the Mumbai Stock Exchange (BSE) fell by nearly 300 points, while the 50-share index of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty fell below 17,800 points. On the other hand, Sensex and Nifty saw declines in the pre-opening of the market. The Nifty was trading down 70.95 points or 0.40% at 17755.75 while the BSE Sensex was trading 268.65 points or 0.44% at 60404.07.

Out of the 30 Sensex stocks, only 3 gained, including Sun Pharma, L&T and HUL. Whereas, out of 50 Nifty stocks, only 10 are gaining and 40 stocks are trading with decline.

Which stocks rose, which fell
Nestlé, Axis Bank, ITC, M&M, Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, HDFC, Bharti Airtel, NTPC, Asian Paints, HDFC Bank, Titan, TCS and Kotak Mahindra Bank were the top losers in the morning session on the Sensex.

On the contrary, Nifty’s Tata Consumers, Bajaj Auto, Britannia Industries, Coal India, L&T, DV’s Sun Pharma, Apollo Hospitals, Hindalco, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, HUL, Hero MotoCorp are showing gains. Thus, today, except for pharma and healthcare, all other indices are falling. The biggest decliners were oil and gas stocks, down about 1 percent. While media and metal stocks are recording a decline of 0.89-0.83 percent.

Selling pressure on ‘Adani’ shares today

Adani Group shares saw mixed trading today. Even today, some shares of Adani Group are bullish while others continue to decline. Adani Enterprises, Adani Green, Adani Transmission, Adani Gas, Adani Wilmer Adani Port saw selling pressure while Ambuja Cement, ACC, NDTV were also trading in red. Shares of Adani Power were seen in green.
