Mumbai : The Indian stock market has seen a decline for three consecutive days this week. Despite good signals from the global market, the Indian market witnessed a sell-off. Indian stock markets on Thursday opened slightly higher on global cues after Wednesday’s sharp fall. Mumbai Stock Exchange’s BSE Sensex rose by 33 points while National Stock Exchange’s Nifty opened with a marginal gain of 20 points at 17,574 points. But after a positive start, the market fell into the red.

Mixed trends in global markets
Many stock markets in Asian markets are trading higher. Hang Seng is trading up 0.75%, Taiwan 1.37%, Kospi 1.12%, Jakarta 0.17%. While the Nikkei is trading down 1.34%, the Straits Times shed 0.72 percent. Earlier on Wednesday, the Dow Jones closed up 0.26 percent, while the Nasdaq Composite closed up 0.13 percent.

In early trade on Thursday, shares of banking sector, auto, pharma, media, energy and consumer durables fell as the market opened, while shares of IT, metal, FMCG sector were bullish. Apart from this, the small cap index and the midcap index are showing decline. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 12 are trading higher while 18 stocks are declining. Also, out of 50 stocks in Nifty, 21 are up and 29 stocks are trading in the red sign of decline.

Tata Steel 0.49 percent, TCS 0.44 percent, Ultratech Cement 0.33 percent, HCL Tech 0.27 percent, Power Grid 0.23 percent, Tata Motors 0.21 percent, Sun Pharma 0.19 percent in the opening session of the market. , Larsen is trading up 0.16 percent, ITC up 0.13 percent and Bharti Airtel up 0.10 percent. While Asian Paints 1.78 percent, Bajaj Finserv 1.20 percent, Bajaj Finance 1.11 percent, IndusInd Bank 0.82 percent, Titan 0.80 percent are trading in the red.

The country’s stock markets were hit on Wednesday on fears of an interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve. The Sensex fell 927.74 points to 59,744.98 while the Nifty settled down 272.40 points to 17,554.30. Banking, metals and IT stocks witnessed the highest selling.
