Mumbai – Nifty50 had a steady start in the first trading session of 2023. Major indexes on Wall Street closed in the negative on Friday. This analysis discusses some of the leading stocks that recorded price volume breakouts.

In the first trading session of the year 2023, the Nifty50 index of the national stock market opened at 18,131.70 compared to last week’s close of 18,105.30 on Friday. It can be attributed to the performance of global markets. On Friday, the major Wall Street indices remained at a steady stage with a negative bias. The Nasdaq Composite fell 0.11%, the Dow Jones 0.22% and the S&P 500 fell 0.25%. Their respective futures were also trading flat in the morning session.

At 12:55 PM on Monday, the Nifty50 index was trading up 48.75 points or 0.27% at 18,154.05. Broad market indices outperformed the leading indices. The Nifty Mid-Cap 100 Index gained 0.63% and the Nifty Small-Cap 100 Index gained 0.51%.

As of December 30 data, foreign investors were sellers and domestic investors were buyers. Foreign institutional investors sold shares worth Rs 2,050.89 crore. While domestic institutional investors bought shares worth Rs 2,266.20 crore.
