This time Holika Dahan is on 7th March and Dhulivandan is on 8th March. Holi is played with colors on Dhulivandan day and people want a holiday on this day. But this time National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) have Holi holiday on March 7. That means both stock markets will remain open on March 8, the day of Dhulivandan. Now stock market brokers are expressing concern over this. Because Holi is celebrated on March 8 in most of the northern states.

Differences between country and Maharashtra holidays
According to the official notification of Maharashtra government, Holi will be celebrated in the state on March 7. That means Holi is a government holiday in Maharashtra on March 7. In other parts of the country, Rang Holi will be celebrated on March 8. Holi is a holiday on March 8 in most of the states of the country.

Demand of brokers
Brokers are demanding that the stock market declare a holiday on March 8 or move the holiday on March 7 to March 8. Yabat Association of National Exchange Members of India (ANMI) President Kamlesh Shah said the holiday on March 7 may affect the T+1 settlement. Because banks will remain closed on March 8 as per RBI guidelines. It is not possible to open an office in some regions. Because traveling will be difficult. This will be a problem especially for women employees.

Both days off
Commodity Participants Association of India (CPAI) President Narendra Wadhav said that apart from Maharashtra, Holi will be celebrated on March 8 across the country. Holiday should be declared on both March 7 and March 8. According to SEBI rules, if 20-30 percent of the market remains closed, operations should be closed.

According to BSE, equity segment, equity derivative segment and SLB segment as well as currency derivative segment and interest rate derivative segment will remain closed on March 7. India’s first listed exchange, the Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) will also remain closed in the morning session on March 7. The session will be held from 5 PM to 11:30/11:55 PM. Morning session will be closed for Commodity Derivatives segment. The evening session will remain open.

Holiday on 30th March
According to the information given on the website of BSE, the Indian stock market will be closed for two days in the month of March. Accordingly, the stock market will be closed on March 30 on the occasion of Ram Navami.
