Mumbai –HDFC Ltd and HDFC Bank as well as strong global cues helped Indian domestic indices maintain their gains of the past four days. As a result, major indices started trading higher on Wednesday. The advance-decline ratio remained in favor of the advance with 1,980 shares rising and 1,180 shares falling in the Mumbai stock market.

All sectors except the BSE Information Technology and BSE Healthcare sector indices started trading higher. The overall BSE Energy index was the top performer with Deep Industries and Aegis Logistics jumping over 5%. Significant growth was seen in oil and gas, financial services and automobile companies.

The BSE Sensex rose 0.60% to 59,313 at 11 am on Wednesday. The Nifty50 index rose 0.53% to 17,580. Reliance Industries, HDFC and Axis Bank were the top gainers in the Sensex. While State Bank of India, Infosys and Sun Pharmaceuticals fell.

Shares of Tech Solutions rose nearly 8%. Hence, it became the leading bullish shareholder in the BSE smallcap pack. DC Infotech & Communication, LKP Finance and K&R Rail Engineering were among the top gainers that achieved 20% upper circuit on the BSE platform.
