Mumbai – Wall Street indices rose on Thursday. Meanwhile, Asian markets showed a mixed trend on Friday. The major indices opened the weekend session with gains on the back of buying in BSE Realty and BSE Healthcare sectors.

Among the sectoral indices, the group index was largely down on BSE Metals with a 2% loss in Hindalco Industries and Jindal Steel & Power. Energy, utilities and auto sector stocks experienced significant selling. 1,873 shares advanced and 1,183 declined in the Mumbai Stock Exchange, with the advance-decline ratio remaining in favor of the advance.

The BSE Sensex rose 0.24% to 59,751 at 10:30 am on Friday. The Nifty50 index rose 0.13% to 17,534. Bajaj Finserv, Asian Paints and Nestle India were the top gainers in the Sensex. While Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Steel and ITC Ltd fell.

Broader indices rose along with key indices. Shares of BSE Smallcap top-ranked Olectra Greentech Ltd rallied over 14% after recovering from a 52-week low on a surge in trading volume. Shares of Indiabulls Real Estate and Reliance Infrastructure were also heavily bought.
